It's been
in television that I've had the opportunity to show my range in front
of the camera. With over 50 appearances on the tube, from the retarded
Charlie the handyman (a red-herring in a serial murder case) on Another
World, to the imperious, prickly-pear alien surgeon Dr. Batung
on UPN's 1998 sci-fi medical show Mercy Point. With just
about everything in between.
The sociopaths:
Frank Slattery -- truck hijacking gang leader on Walker Texas Ranger,
Noble John Spanier -- arsonist hellfire and brimstone preacher on The
Flash, JP Swadlow -- renegade, Louisiana cop in LA trying to steal
back counterfeit money on Hardball.
The nice guys:
Henry Muckerman-doting father and loyal friend on Life Goes On,
Hap Hapscomb--gas station owner good old boy in The Stand,
Leonard Mankewicz-the terminally unlucky romantic on Chicago Hope.
The not-so-nice guy's:
Hutto-cowboy thief in Lonesome Dove, a tough loan shark
in First and Ten (had a scene with OJ), a sleazy PI on C-16,
and one unhappy fast food customer on Cop Rock.
The aliens:
in addition to Mercy Point, there was Skalaar the Tellarite
bounty hunter in the Enterprise episode: Bounty,
Kulge; the revolutionary Klingon officer in Star
Trek: The Next Generation, Woban; benevolent leader of the Navot
people in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Moe Goodluck; enraged
lawbreaking Newcomer on Alien Nation.
Then the cops:
on NYPD Blue, LA Law, All My
Children, The Trial of Bernard Goetz, The
Practice, Cruel Doubt and Prey.
And everyone else:
on The Fugutive, Philly, Providence,
Law and Order, Cheers, Murphy Brown,
Damon, Framed, Adam-12, General
Hospital, 413 Hope St., Seven Days,
Get Real, plus 8 appearances doing some really wacky sketch
comedy on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
